Integrated Energy Techniques/ Energy Psychology

I like therapy (energy Psychology) that makes a difference. I like clients to feel they are moving forward and that they are resolving things that are holding them back.

IET Therapy combines the most effective therapeutic and communication techniques currently available in the field of Energy Psychology – including EFT, NLP & Hypnotherapy.

Acronyms and jargon aside, these techniques are profoundly effective in facilitating positive change – whether it’s dealing with an emotional issue, a physical problem or a desire to boost your overall performance.

It doesn’t matter where your starting point is, or how clear (or unclear) you may be about what’s happening, IET works on our interlinked systems of behaviour, thought, emotion and sensation, to address the underlying aspects of any problem.

And it’s very straightforward, with minimal talk and no need to re-live painful experiences, using tools that gently and swiftly release traumatic events that are frozen in time in the body-mind system. The results are observable and measurable – from greater mental clarity, relief from pain and anguish, and a renewed sense of energy and purpose.

IET Therapy is effective in working with:

  • eating disorders, cravings, addictions, physical pain, illness

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)

Also known as ‘Tapping’, EFT is often described as “emotional acupressure” because it involves tapping on the same energy meridians used in traditional acupuncture to treat physical and emotional ailments for over 3000 years.

When we’ve experienced something that is emotionally difficult it impacts us physically and is often stored in the cellular memory of our bodies. Over time this original event may continue to play out both physically and emotionally and, even when we’re aware of it, it can be difficult to change.

EFT combines a routine of tapping with fingertips on specific meridians around the head and chest, while you focus on the physical condition or the mental/emotional issue or even just a vague memory or sensation.

EFT is a simple and practical technique that I will teach you. In our sessions together we can use it to reduce stress, release restrictive beliefs, transform old habits, and promote better physical and mental health.

Tapping is about freedom and we could all use more of that!

Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)

NLP is about connection – our thoughts, speech and actions that connect us to the world around us. It’s also about how we connect with ourselves, harnessing our inner resources so that we can act with purpose and lead fulfilling lives.

NLP is used in both personal development and in business, to create greater congruence with our unconscious mind and to discover what might be operating in the background, so that what we say we want – success, happiness, health, peace – can become a reality.

This congruence is the difference between why does one person gets results and another doesn’t. NLP (Energy Psychology) is effective in:

  • Personal growth, expansion, empowerment
  • Establishing rapport and trust
  • Forming fulfilling relationships
  • Letting go of limiting beliefs

Hypnotherapy is used to create a calm state of mind, similar to that which you might experience when you’re really absorbed in something, or when you’re daydreaming or meditating.

Using simple guided relaxation techniques hypnotherapy allows you to bypass the busy logical mind to access your wise unconscious mind, the processing centre for all our experiences and memories. The unconscious is where habits take hold, both positive and negative, and it governs how we process what is happening to us and how we respond.

When you’re wondering why you see repeating patterns in your life, even after you’ve set positive goals; or why annoying habits continue regardless of your willpower, the key is in your unconscious where the old message is still holding strong.

Once you are in that calm relaxed state we can determine what the message or habit is that is still operating it and we can gently release and replace it. The unconscious mind is generally very willing to help you resolve unwanted habits and issues and as its ‘language’ is imagery and symbols, a guided hypnotherapy session provides the perfect vehicle for this process to occur and to make lasting change.

It’s important to note that during a Hypnotherapy session:

  • You are in control at all times
  • Your senses are alert and awake throughout
  • You only say or do what you would normally in your conscious state
  • Hypnotherapy does not involve ‘mind control’, or ‘magic’ and you cannot be forced to enter hypnosis against your will
